Views of the ISS by year

Hi Soumya, I wanted to bring an issue to your attention. I've noticed that you're adding a lot of subcategories to Views of the International Space Station in 2021 and similar "in year" categories, and removing individual images. I understand the idea of including these subcategories, but the problem is the vast majority of images in those subcategories are not displaying the ISS in any way, and most of photographed from the station. I simply do not believe having these subcategories present is really a good idea. For these "in year" categories to be useful, they need to focus on images of the station. Urban rail transit

I disagree with your recent creation of "urban rail transit" categories. Several of the modes you have been including are not inherently urban in nature, and it is misleading to categorize them as such. It is true, but I have created the category to categorise the different rail transport systems used in Indian cities and beyond, and for the transport modes that are not inherently urban in nature, you should only include the routes within an urban area. I don't see anything on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_space_stations indicating that they're considered a space station, so I'm curious how you made that decision. On https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:China_Dynasties.gif, the 15th frame, labeled "Southern and Northern Dynasties, 480", should instead be labeled "Southern and Northern Dynasties, 560", based on the infobox at the top of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_and_Southern_dynasties. (Frame 13 is also labeled, correctly, "Southern and Northern Dynasties, 480". I think that is what caused the confusion.)

Rolling stock vs. Rail vehicles

You have moved the Category:Rail vehicles of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway to Category:Darjeeling Himalayan Railway rolling stock. This is not a good idea because it had been decided to generally use the term "rail vehicles" instead of "rolling stock", because the latter is a very technical term and Wiki commons categories should be widely understood. Salt Lake and Bidhannagar

Salt Lake is a part of the "Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation" (not just "Bidhannagar") and the official website always uses "Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation" or BMC to refer to the municipal corporation. At About BMC, the website says, "The original township was called Salt Lake, which was later renamed as Bidhannagar", implying that the two terms are synonymous. Previously, before 2015, yes, but Bidhannagar is not synonymous with Salt Lake only since 2015. It has encompassed a lot more area than before. The data around Wikidata and the categories on Wikimedia Commons are built on the current administrative division, so there is no point changing back to the pre-2015 status. Also, Bidhannagar is not in Kolkata, its in North 24 Parganas, so adding categories to buildings in Kolkata does not make sense. Please be assured, I have spent significant amount of time and energy to properly categorise and datafy these entities. I'm not going to discuss whether we should put "x in Bidhannagar" as part of "x in Kolkata".

The data around Wikidata and the categories on Wikimedia Commons are built on the current administrative division, so there is no point changing back to the pre-2015 status.

The only thing inconsistent here is the OpenStreetMap area. Anyway, I've changed my mind and keep the categorisation as it is. Oh, forgot to cite the relevant CFD. The move is based on my category scheme planned at Commons:Categories for discussion/2019/05/Category:Banks by country. Deletion of WEST BENGAL symbol/emblems

Why the hell did you delete this logos? Are you stupid or what?? Don't you understand the sanctity or importance of these files?

I had to serve three non-deletion requests for all three files you deleted. This image is very important as it serves as the symbol or emblem of the Indian state of West Bengal, it's government and all it's official institutions. All other states of India including the given state's counterpart Maharashtra have their symbols (emblems) intact and not deleted.

You are a person who has stupidly deleted these symbols. Your deletion request already stands false as you stated that these logos were launched in 2011, wherein reality, they were launched in 2018. Moreover, they are public domain logos of the State Govt. of West Bengal, not copyrighted. The bot has deleted this symbol from all West Bengal pages on Wikipedia.

This image needs to get undeleted immediately. This is a matter of the sanctity of the biggest and most important region of India. You, being a resident of Bengal initiated such stupid actions which has ruined West Bengal related pages which look unofficial now due to absence of logos, instead of improving WB articles or participating in Wikiproject: West Bengal.

If these files remain deleted, what the hell will you do? Have you devised any way to re-upload those images? @Rourib.2004: First and foremost, please talk to me politely. I won't support any form of personal attacks to any users. If the emblems of West Bengal are really in public domain, you can request undeletion at COM:UNDELETE. I had requested deletion of West Bengal emblems (I don't have the rights to delete or undelete files, only admins and bots can do) because I thought they were copyrighted by the state. It is not about sanctity or importance of files, it is about a possible copyright violation, which is not allowed in Commons. I have previously requested several suspicious images for deletion. Now, since you nominated and got those symbol and flags deleted, what do you envisage now? All the articles of West Bengal are now empty and devoid of the official emblem of West Bengal.

Do you want them to remain empty? All Maharashtra articles have their emblem intact, and all other Indian states. Have you thought of fixing these issue anyhow?

— By Re-uploading the logo/emblem and flags with proper licensing info which you deleted?

— You could have tweaked the licensing info of these files, like those of other states instead of proposing them for deletion.

— Bot has deleted the emblem symbol from all the pages related to West Bengal. Even if the logo is newly re-uploaded, who will place these logo in all the WB articles one by one (manually)? You have created a very big mess. Did you want all these articles to be devoid of the emblem?

Again, the tone should be polite. I have no conspiracy associated with the emblems. I'm just too sensitive with possible copyright violations. Only admins can undelete deleted images and you can request them to do so in COM:UNDELETE. And yes, I should have altered the licensing info instead of requesting deletion. Until the SVG emblem is restored, you can use Govt. Of West Bengal(Bidhannagar Government College).png, which essentially the same emblem in PNG. Will you please, for once look into this matter, which you caused: Undeletion. This request, which was going for more than 2 days had so many interruptions by a single user who claims to be the protector of copyrights, the files even got restored once, but that single user made sure to put his claims in such a way that these files never return to Wiki (he seemed to be hating me or West Bengal), and thus it got ultimately got rejected. Now I am stuck in the admin's talk page, begging for the undeletion of those three files. Can you atleast participate in the latter one? You didn't come even once in the undeletion request for your mistakes. Those three files had links to all West Bengal related pages and their undeletion is the only solution, as re-uploading them again will not make anyone do the effort to insert the emblem and flag in each article one-by-one. Even if by chance, the administrator does not agree, what will happen, mister? All other states of India, including our counterpart Maharashtra, have their symbols intact on commons (despite having exactly same licensing info, of being on PD-India and being self-drawn vectorised images by the authors from official state government sources, as that of West Bengal), whereas our cursed state of West Bengal has none.

From where I will find these three files which include the svg format emblem, png format emblem and the svg format flag????:

Copyright is our primary concern in Wikimedia Commons, see Commons:Licensing. We don't host copyrighted stuff in Commons just because it is sanctified or officiated, we do so locally in Wikipedia. 2. I have uploaded an image in the wikidata. But In the commons when I search the name bir uttam shaheed samad school & college the image is not seen the info box. Please solve that.

3. Please translate this bangla wikipedia article to english wikipedia and publish it in the english wikipedia.

আপনি যে ম্যাপ আইডি উইকিউপাত্তে আপলোড করেছেন সেটি ব্যর্থ হয়েছে। সেখানে আমি দেখলাম ১ থেকে ৯ সংখ্যা হলো আইডি নম্বরের সীমা। আপনি ১০টি সংখ্যা দিয়েছেন। তাই হয়তো ম্যাপটি আপলোড হয়নি। আপনি একটু দয়া করে আবার জিনিসটি দেখবেন, তাহলে একটু ভালো হয়।

This is the result of the consensus at Commons:Categories for discussion/2022/06/Category:Streets named after Kyiv. It has been found in the discussion that streets are types of roads.
