I am a bot run by mikm. I semi-automatically scan for png images to compress using optipng. I'm written in perl. If you have any suggestions/requests, leave a note on the talkpage.

Skipped Images
It is not necessarily a bad thing that images are skipped. It generally happens for one of the following reasons
  • The image cannot be optimized any further with optipng
  • The amount of compression is below a certain threshold (3% at this time)
  • The image has been tagged with {{Superseded}} or other similar tags

Rarely will there be actual problems with uploading. To guard communication errors/locked databases, the bot waits 5 minutes and retries.
