Template:FakeSVG

This image is not a real SVG, just a fake (wrapper). It is a raster graphic without vector coding.
Using SVG as just a wrapper is undesirable.
Note: This template should be used if the SVG file contains only raster graphics. If the SVG file contains both vector and raster graphics, then use {{BadSVG}}.

This documentation is transcluded from Template:FakeSVG/doc.

This template stub is used mainly by Image generation with !=f when files consist only of raster graphics. Note that {{Igen|!}} also populates the Fake SVG category.

rudimentary Documentation

A Bad SVG contains one or more raster images.
A Fake SVG only contains raster images, or only a single raster image.

An SVG file that contains a raster image but also vector data (lines, paths, circles, rectangles, ellipses) should be tagged with {{BadSVG}}.
An SVG file that contains only raster images or a single raster image should be tagged with {{FakeSVG}} - no matter when it contains embedded text.

In German there is a longer explanation: User_talk:Sarang/Archive/2018#BadSVG_in_FakeSVG_und_sinnvoll_eingebundes_PNG_trennen?

If you need help distinguishing between {{BadSVG}} and {{FakeSVG}} you can use User:Perhelion/simpleSVGcheck.js as explained at Template:Image_generation#Script_support.

The template automatically sets the following categories: Fake SVG
