This workshop is part of the Graphics Lab, a project aimed at picture retouching to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. More information about the lab can be found on its main page and requests pages (Illustrations ; Photographs ; Maps ; Video and Sound). To ask questions or make a suggestions, see the talk page of the graphic lab page.

This specific page is the requests page for the Photography Workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Make image transparent I would like for the background of this image to be made transparent. I see no reason why it should keep the white background when making it transparent will work just fine.

@PawełMM: Do you know why there is difference between your work and one from YouTube video preview? Also do you know how it was done in case of Stromae image? @PawełMM: It looks great now. I would only edit shape on the left around hair and top a little in transparent version also little fix for hand on left side at black bacground. Needs cleanup to look more presentable[edit]

Hello. I am the original uploader of this illustration. But this was years ago (unable to redo). It's a rare image of a billboard dating to 1930. It's signed by the artist on the bed's mattress. Notice the glare in the upper wording, caused by the camera's glare. I don't want major alterations to be made, which would necessitate the creation of a new file name. I was just hoping this one could look more presentable. (I only have basic GIMP knowledge.) The problem is in the captioned word "hungry", especially in the "ngr." Perhaps the white part could be lightened and the background part darkened, in order to mesh better with the rest of the wording. In closing, I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality, without having to create a new file name. That mostly means just lightening areas around the "ngr" so that everything blends in better. Thanks JimPercy (talk) 15:03, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
